HINZMANN: William Frederick family. They moved to Wabeno, Forest County from Athens, Marathon County, Wisconsin in 1899 and may have been the fourth family to settle in Wabeno (Indian name "Waubeno" = "coming of the winds") reference the 6-2-1880 tornado that created a clearing where the town was created 3-22-1901. It appears William purchased his first Wabeno property from the G.W. Jones Lumber Company January 6, 1903 for $25.  This small lot is located at  4413 N. Branch St. address today.  Subsequently a lot  purchased on April 16, 1906 for $70 from Carl Heil is most likely where the William and Emma Hinzman family resided during their life in Wabeno.  That house was located at 1777 Crandon Ave. address today. Emma's husband William worked for the Rusch Brother's (A.R. & A.F.) sawmill as a carpenter, building houses for the Minor Lumber Company, about 5 miles south of Wabeno (Near the current Northern Lights Casino). William and Emma had 8 children, 2 were born in Athens and 6 were born in Wabeno. Emma died in 1930 and William in 1948. They are buried in the Catholic Cemetery (Saint Ambrose) northeast of Wabeno. Three of the sons changed the spelling to HINTZMAN.

Spouse: William Hinzman born 1-30-1872 in Brudzewice P,P, Germany (Now Braszewice Poland), died August 24, 1948

Note this 3rd spelling of Hintzmann, which has an extra "n" in addition to the extra  "t" previously.

Son "Adlia", age 2 during the 1900 Federal Census, does not appear in this census.  One would assume he died sometime between 1900 and 1905.  No birth or death record can be located for "Adlia". Possibly there could have been a recording error with the 1900 census taking.
